Overview

The Mosque of Namazgah, also known as the Great Mosque of Tirana or Namazgah Mosque, serves as the largest Islamic house of worship in the Balkans. The structure features four minarets reaching 50 meters in height and a central dome standing 30 meters tall. Construction was finalized and the site inaugurated in late 2024, ending a decades-long planning process that began in the 1990s. The architectural design synthesizes classical Ottoman styles with contemporary construction techniques. Its interior capacity accommodates up to 4,500 worshippers simultaneously. The complex includes additional facilities such as a cultural center, a library, and exhibition spaces. It is situated on a 10,000-square-meter plot of land in the heart of Tirana. The mosque is financed largely by the Turkish Diyanet Foundation.
