Following the move of professional rugby to the Cape Town Stadium, the site was officially sold in 2023 for property redevelopment. Access to the interior is strictly prohibited as the site is currently cleared for upcoming construction projects. It remains a significant landmark in South African sporting history for hosting numerous Currie Cup finals and international test matches.
