Overview

The Statues Clock Tower, also known as the Bursa Clock Tower or Tophane Clock Tower, is a prominent historical monument situated within the Tophane Park in the Osmangazi district. Originally constructed during the reign of Sultan Abdülaziz, the current structure is a 1905 reconstruction commissioned by Governor Reşit Mümtaz Pasha to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Sultan Abdülhamid II's accession. Standing approximately 33 meters high, the tower features a four-story design constructed primarily of limestone. It incorporates a traditional Ottoman architectural style with ornate balconies and arched windows. The clock mechanism is visible behind circular glass faces on the upper level, which provide a 360-degree view of the city. As part of the Tophane complex, it serves as a central navigational point in the historic heart of Bursa. The site also houses the tombs of Osman Gazi and Orhan Gazi, the founders of the Ottoman Empire, in immediate proximity.
