The plaza features a wide, paved stage area frequently used for public performances, cultural festivals, and seasonal light displays. Its design incorporates traditional Korean aesthetic elements, such as the eight-colored Palseokdam stones representing the provinces of Korea. The plaza connects directly to the subterranean stream walkways that span the length of the Jongno district.
