Overview

Castle Lednice is a Neo-Gothic chateau located within the UNESCO-listed Lednice-Valtice Cultural Landscape. Originally a Renaissance villa, it underwent extensive 19th-century reconstruction led by architect Jiří Wingelmüller, characterized by elaborate wood carvings and English-style interiors. The estate features a prominent conservatory connected directly to the palace, which houses a collection of exotic plants. The grounds encompass a large French garden and a vast landscape park, incorporating elements like the Minaret and the artificial 'Janohrad' castle ruin. The riding hall is a functional historical component of the castle complex, preserved alongside the royal stables. The palace served as the summer residence of the House of Liechtenstein. The surrounding park area spans approximately 200 hectares of meticulously maintained landscape design.
