Overview

Emen Waterfall, also known as Momin Skok, is located at the end of the Negovanka River canyon near Emen village. The waterfall drops approximately 10 meters into a large, deep natural pool surrounded by limestone cliffs. The site is the final highlight of the Emen Eco-trail, a wooden infrastructure path constructed through the karst gorge. The river is fed by the karst springs of the Emen Cave system, which influences the water flow consistency. The surrounding ecosystem features rich flora and diverse bird species adapted to the humid, shaded canyon environment.

Insider tips

Wear sturdy, non-slip hiking boots as the paths near the water are consistently wet and slippery.

Bring mosquito repellent, as the humid, shaded canyon attracts significant insect populations.

The wooden bridges on the trail can be unstable due to environmental weathering; exercise caution when crossing.

What to avoid

Do not attempt to swim in the pool below the waterfall, as the depth is deceptive and the water temperature remains very low year-round.

Etiquette

Maintain silence to protect local wildlife, avoid disturbing nesting birds, and carry out all litter.
