Overview

The Piarist Church of the Holy Trinity in Cluj-Napoca is a significant example of early 18th-century Baroque architecture in Transylvania. Built between 1718 and 1724, it served as the primary place of worship for the Piarist Order in the region. The interior features a prominent high altar crafted in the mid-1700s by the sculptor Anton Schuchbauer. Its façade follows the typical Baroque pattern of two towers flanking a central nave, heavily influenced by the Jesuit style of Vienna. The church is situated on University Street, serving as a landmark within the historical campus area of the Babeș-Bolyai University. It stands on a site previously occupied by a smaller chapel belonging to the Jesuit order.
