Overview

Sattel-Hochstuckli is a family-oriented mountain resort located in the canton of Schwyz, primarily known for the Raiffeisen Skywalk. This 374-meter-long pedestrian suspension bridge spans the Lauitobel gorge at a height of 58 meters. The resort operates the world’s first rotating gondola lift, the Stuckli Rondo, which completes a full 360-degree rotation during the ascent to the Mostelberg mountain station. Winter activities focus on a small-scale family ski area with night skiing options. Summer attractions include a 600-meter all-weather summer toboggan run known as the Stuckli Run. The region is integrated into an extensive network of marked hiking trails and mountain bike paths. The Mostelberg summit serves as the central hub for dining and recreational facilities.

Insider tips

Bring a windbreaker or light jacket even in summer, as temperatures at the mountain station are significantly lower than in the valley.

Check the official website for real-time wind alerts, as the suspension bridge may close during high-wind conditions.

Combine the descent with a stop at the Mostelberg mountain restaurant for regional Swiss alpine specialties.

What to avoid

Do not attempt to walk to the bridge from the valley floor without proper hiking gear, as it is a steep, strenuous ascent.

Good to know

Operations are subject to seasonal maintenance closures in late autumn and early spring; night skiing and tobogganing are available only on designated winter dates.

Etiquette

Sturdy, closed-toe walking shoes are required for hiking trails and bridge access; respect marked trail boundaries to protect alpine flora.
