Overview

The Stanserhorn-Bahn is the world's first cable car featuring an open-top, double-decker 'CabriO' cabin. The system utilizes a funicular railway built in 1893 to transport passengers from Stans to the middle station, where they transfer to the aerial cableway. The summit stands at 1,898 meters above sea level. The upper deck of the cable car allows passengers to stand in the open air during the ascent to the peak. At the summit, a revolving restaurant provides 360-degree views of the Swiss Alps and surrounding lakes. A circular trail takes visitors around the summit peak and features a marmot park. The facility is fully operational as of June 2026.
