Overview
Tokyo DisneySea is the only Disney park in the world themed entirely around nautical legends, myths, and exploration. Opened in 2001, it features seven distinct ports of call: Mediterranean Harbor, Mysterious Island, Mermaid Lagoon, Arabian Coast, Lost River Delta, Port Discovery, and American Waterfront. Fantasy Springs, the park's eighth and newest port, features attractions based on Frozen, Tangled, and Peter Pan. The park is built around a large central body of water that hosts elaborate daytime shows and nighttime fireworks. It is situated on Tokyo Bay within the Tokyo Disney Resort complex. The architecture incorporates influences ranging from Venetian canals to steam-powered industrial design. Unlike its sister park, Tokyo Disneyland, it targets a slightly older demographic with more intense thrill rides and a focus on immersive atmospheric storytelling.
