Overview

Atatürk Urban Forest is a 330-hectare recreational area located in the Sarıyer district of Istanbul. The park features a complex network of walking, jogging, and cycling trails winding through dense woodland. A primary feature of the park is its three interconnected artificial ponds that support local bird life. The terrain is notably hilly, providing elevated vantage points that look out over the surrounding forest canopy. The park was opened to the public in 2020 after an extensive reforestation and landscaping project. It serves as a major green corridor for the northern part of the city. Facilities include wooden observation decks, pedestrian bridges, and designated fitness zones. The landscape is primarily composed of diverse tree species and native shrubbery.
