Overview

Zrinjevac Park is the first of eight squares and parks forming the Lenuci Horseshoe in central Zagreb. The park features a 19th-century Neo-Renaissance music pavilion placed at its center in 1891. Its layout is defined by formal gravel paths flanked by 220 plane trees planted in 1872. A meteorological station dating to 1884 remains active near the park's entrance. The park is surrounded by prominent historic buildings, including the Supreme Court of Croatia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It serves as a focal point for city festivals, specifically hosting outdoor food markets and Christmas market stalls. The square is adorned with marble busts of prominent Croatian historical figures set along the central walkway. It was formally established in 1866 on the site of a former cattle fairground.
