Caldera de los Cuervos is a volcanic crater formed during the 1730–1736 eruptions of Timanfaya in Lanzarote. The site features a well-defined, accessible trail that descends directly into the heart of the crater. Visitors walk through a landscape dominated by solidified lava flows and volcanic ash, known as 'lapilli'. The formation is recognized as the first crater to erupt during the six-year volcanic period in the region. The crater rim provides panoramic views of the surrounding 'Malpaís' or badlands. Geologically, it is a cinder cone consisting of basaltic scoria and tephra layers. The trail is flat and circular, offering a stable surface for walking despite the rugged environment. No significant vegetation exists within the crater, maintaining its raw, moon-like appearance.
