Overview

Atelier des Lumières is a digital art center housed in a converted 19th-century iron foundry in the 11th arrondissement of Paris. It specializes in immersive, large-scale projections that map renowned artworks onto walls, ceilings, and floors set to a synchronized musical score. The facility utilizes 140 video projectors and a high-fidelity spatialized sound system to transform the industrial space into a dynamic canvas. Exhibitions typically focus on the works of major historical figures, such as Van Gogh, Dalí, or Monet, presented through motion-graphic sequences. Visitors move freely throughout the 3,300-square-meter main hall, which retains original architectural features like metal structures and massive chimneys. The exhibitions are continuous and cyclical, allowing visitors to enter and leave at any point during the loop. It is operated by Culturespaces, an organization that manages various cultural heritage sites in France.
