The bridge was commissioned by Noutsos Kontodimos from the village of Koukouli, after whom it is officially named.
The central arch measures approximately 23 meters in length and 13 meters in height.
During the 19th century, a mill and a bakery were operated by the bridge to support passing merchants.
The bridge underwent significant restoration in 1910, funded by the benefactor Alexis Noutsos.

Kokkorou Bridge, also known as Noutsos Bridge, is a three-arched stone bridge spanning the Vikos Gorge entrance in the Zagori region of Greece. The bridge features a large central arch and two smaller lateral arches, designed to accommodate the erratic water flow of the Voidomatis River. The riverbank on the western side of the bridge offers the clearest view of all three arches.
