Overview

Atal Setu, also known as the Third Mandovi Bridge, is a 5.1-kilometer cable-stayed bridge spanning the Mandovi River in Goa. It serves as a vital transit link connecting Panaji to the northern regions via the NH-66 highway. The structure features a distinctive design with three main spans and is supported by 88 high-tensile stay cables. As one of the longest cable-stayed bridges in India, it significantly diverts traffic from the older Mandovi bridges, reducing congestion in the capital city. The bridge deck reaches a height of 30 meters above the river level, providing unobstructed passage for ships. Construction was completed and inaugurated in early 2019.
