Overview

The Svyato-Troitskiy Kafedral'nyy Sobor, or Trinity Cathedral, is the primary religious structure within the Pskov Kremlin, historically serving as the spiritual heart of the Pskov Republic. The current four-pillared, white-stone building is the fourth iteration of the cathedral, completed in 1699. It stands 72 meters high and features a characteristic multi-domed roof structure. The interior houses a massive iconostasis containing historic icons from the 16th to 18th centuries. The cathedral serves as the burial place for Pskov princes, including Vsevolod-Gavriil and Dovmont. It is an active Orthodox cathedral and the seat of the Pskov Eparchy. The structure is integrated into the defensive walls of the Krom, overlooking the confluence of the Velikaya and Pskova rivers.
