Overview

Girlevik Falls, locally known as Girlevik Şelalesi, is a multi-tiered waterfall system located 29 kilometers southeast of Erzincan city center. The falls are fed by the waters of the Munzur Mountains and cascade from a height of approximately 30 to 40 meters. The site consists of nine separate waterfalls formed along the bed of the Kalecik stream. It remains a popular location for natural cooling during the high temperatures of the Anatolian summer. The surrounding area features lush vegetation, poplar trees, and wooden platforms for visitors to view the water. During winter months, the falls undergo a transformation as the water freezes, creating extensive ice columns and stalactites that attract climbers and photographers.
