The Ascension Cathedral, known locally as the Metropolitan Cathedral of the Ascension of the Lord, is a prominent Romanian Orthodox place of worship located in Târgu Mureș. The cathedral is designed in a neo-Byzantine architectural style, characterized by its substantial central dome and decorative arches. It serves as the seat for the Orthodox Archdiocese of Alba Iulia. The interior features significant mural paintings completed by artist Virigil Constanțin in the 1980s. Its primary facade faces the main square of the city, Piața Trandafirilor.
