4

The site features submerged archaeological remains from the Bronze Age, designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site under the 'Prehistoric Pile Dwellings around the Alps' program.

5

The beach is entirely composed of light-colored, rounded pebbles smoothed by the wave action of Lake Garda.

Overview

Spiaggia Pisenze is a pebble beach located on the western shore of Lake Garda, sitting directly beneath the dramatic cliffs of the Rocca di Manerba. The beach offers clear, deep waters and views of Isola di San Biagio and Isola del Garda. It is part of the Parco Archeologico Naturalistico della Rocca di Manerba del Garda, which preserves the remains of a medieval fortress. The terrain consists of white pebbles rather than sand, typical of the lake's western basin. Visitors can access the beach via a nature trail that descends from the higher ridges of the park. The site serves as a frequent departure point for swimmers crossing to the nearby Rabbit Island (Isola di San Biagio).

Insider tips

Bring sturdy water shoes as the pebble-covered lakebed can be uncomfortable and slippery for bare feet.

Carry a portable shade solution as natural tree cover directly on the shoreline is minimal.

Combine a beach visit with the hike to the Rocca di Manerba ruins for panoramic lake views.

What to avoid

Do not attempt to reach the beach by car via the narrowest restricted park access roads; use the designated public parking areas above the cliffs.

Etiquette

Maintain noise levels appropriate for a natural park and carry out all refuse as there are no bins on the beach.
