Overview

Monastery Tresije is an active Serbian Orthodox monastery situated on the northern slopes of the Kosmaj mountain. Originally founded in the early 14th century during the reign of King Dragutin, the complex was destroyed and abandoned multiple times throughout Ottoman rule. The current church, built in the Morava architectural style, sits on the foundations of the medieval predecessor. It serves as a spiritual site featuring a distinct wooden iconostasis and a prominent bell tower. The monastery is part of the Eparchy of Šumadija and functions as a center for religious life in the Sopot region. Its location provides views of the surrounding Šumadija forest landscape. The complex includes auxiliary monastic buildings and is maintained by a resident brotherhood.
