Overview

Bogyeongsa Valley is a mountain stream trail located within the Naeyeonsan Provincial Park in Pohang, South Korea. The valley is best known for its series of twelve distinct waterfalls, collectively known as the Naeyeonsan Waterfalls. The trail begins at the historic Bogyeongsa Temple, founded during the Silla Dynasty in 602 AD. The path follows the inner gorge, passing prominent falls such as Sangsaeng, Gwaneum, and Yeonsan Waterfalls. Much of the trail is forested, providing significant natural shade along the mountain path. The valley serves as a gateway to the peaks of Naeyeonsan, including Samji-bong and Mun-su-bong. Geologically, the region features deep ravines carved into granite rock formations. It is a popular destination for hikers seeking both Buddhist temple architecture and mountainous terrain.
