Overview

Campuhan Ridge Walk is a paved trail situated along a natural crest between the Oos and Cerik rivers in Ubud. The route covers approximately 2 kilometers of gentle incline and decline, characterized by tall elephant grass and tropical vegetation. It provides a rare car-free corridor for pedestrians in the Ubud area. The pathway connects the main village towards the settlement of Bangkiang Sidem. The path is entirely uncovered, exposing visitors to direct sunlight for the duration of the trek.

Insider tips

Carry a personal water supply as there are no vendors along the actual ridge path.

Wear high-SPF sunscreen and a hat, as there is zero shade throughout the entirety of the hike.

Continue walking past the ridge into the village of Bangkiang Sidem to find small cafes overlooking the rice paddies.

What to avoid

Avoid visiting midday when the lack of tree canopy causes the paved path to become exceptionally hot.

Etiquette

Maintain a respectful distance from the Pura Gunung Lebah temple structures; avoid entering restricted temple areas if not properly dressed in a sarong.
