Palpung Sherabling Monastery is the main seat of the Tai Situpa lineage of the Kagyu school of Tibetan Buddhism. Situated in the foothills of the Dhauladhar range, the monastic complex serves as a primary center for Buddhist studies, meditation, and arts. The architecture follows traditional Tibetan styles, featuring a massive main temple adorned with intricate thangka paintings and a large gilded Buddha statue. As of July 2026, the monastery remains an active site for hundreds of monks and remains open to visitors. The complex is designed to integrate harmoniously with the surrounding pine forests of the Kangra Valley.
