Dog Beach at Picnic Island Park is a dedicated off-leash canine recreation area located on the shores of Old Tampa Bay. The site features a sandy shoreline allowing dogs to run freely and swim in the bay waters. The surrounding 7.8-acre Picnic Island Park offers additional amenities including a disc golf course, fishing pier, and kayak launch. The dog beach is enclosed to separate canine activities from the general-use park areas. It provides views of the industrial skyline and the expansive waters of the bay. The park terrain includes both sandy beach access and grassy zones for visitors.
