The current structure features a primary Baroque exterior following a 17th-century reconstruction of the original medieval Cistercian abbey. The basilica serves as a center for the annual Cyril and Methodius pilgrimage held in July. Beneath the floor lies a crypt containing Romanesque and Gothic architectural remains from the original monastery. The interior is noted for its intricate stucco work and high altar paintings. It holds the title of minor basilica, granted by Pope Pius XI in 1928. The surrounding monastic complex includes a courtyard and remains of the medieval fortification.
