Overview

Ostrá Horka is a 19-meter-high steel lattice observation tower located on the Soběšice hill in Brno, Czechia. Situated at an elevation of 387 meters, the structure provides an panoramic vantage point over the city of Brno and the surrounding landscape of the Drahany Highlands. The tower features a metal spiral staircase leading to a viewing platform positioned at a height of 14 meters. It is built on the site of a historic geodesic point used for triangulation surveys during the 19th century. The tower was constructed in 2011 to replace a smaller predecessor and enhance recreational access to the northern suburban forest belt. It serves as a navigational landmark for hikers and cyclists exploring the trails north of the Brno-sever district.
