Overview

Rozhledna Háj is a 34-meter high stone observation tower located on the summit of Háj hill in the Aš region of the Czech Republic. Originally inaugurated in 1908 as one of the many Bismarck towers constructed across the German Empire, it remains a primary landmark of the city of Aš. The tower structure consists of granite masonry and features an external staircase leading to an observation deck. It provides panoramic views of the Ore Mountains (Krušné hory), the Elster Mountains (Halštrovské hory), and the Bavarian Vogtland. The site serves as the starting point for several local hiking trails and is situated within a recreational forest park. Restoration efforts have maintained the integrity of its early 20th-century architectural style. The surrounding summit area includes memorial markers and seating areas for visitors.

What to avoid

Do not attempt the climb during high winds or thunderstorm warnings, as the open-air staircase is exposed.
