The park is built as a 'land bridge' covering the intersection of the Shuto Expressway Route 3 and the Central Circular Route.
It spans an area of approximately 7,000 square meters.
The garden was developed as part of a larger urban regeneration project involving the surrounding high-rise residential buildings.
The circular path is designed with a slight incline, reflecting the spiral geometry of the highway interchange beneath it.
The site includes an 'Ohashi Library' and a community multipurpose room managed by Meguro City.
Vegetation is carefully selected to include wind-resistant species suitable for an elevated rooftop environment.
The project won the Good Design Award in 2013 for its innovative use of space above transport infrastructure.
Meguro Sky Garden is a circular, elevated rooftop park constructed atop the Ohashi Junction of the Shuto Expressway. The garden occupies a distinctive spiral structure that rises 35 meters above the ground. It features a lush, landscaped green space designed to mitigate the urban heat island effect created by the expressway below. Visitors traverse a continuous pathway that circles the central open-air atrium, providing elevated views of the surrounding Meguro district. The garden includes specific zones for seasonal flora, including a vegetable garden, a plaza, and a dedicated observation deck. The structure serves as a functional green buffer between the residential neighborhood and the major motorway junction.

Follow the circular path to see the park from multiple elevations.
Check the central atrium area, as it provides a unique perspective of the expressway's layered construction.
Carry water or snacks, as amenities are limited on the rooftop level.
Do not expect a large forest or traditional sprawling park; it is a compact, urban architectural feature.
