Overview

The White Drin Waterfall is a natural feature located within the Radavc village area near Peja, Kosovo. Fed by the White Drin River, the waterfall plunges approximately 30 meters from a karst cave spring. The water originates from the subterranean Drin i Bardhë spring, which emerges from a limestone cliff. The site is a protected natural monument designated for its geological and hydrological significance. Surrounding terrain consists of dense beech and oak forests, characteristic of the Prokletije foothills. The area features a limestone cave known as the Sleeping Beauty Cave situated just above the waterfall source. Water levels fluctuate significantly depending on seasonal snowmelt and rainfall. The waterfall is a focal point of a small park environment developed with walking paths and localized seating.

Photo spot

The wooden bridge spanning the river provides the clearest line of sight to the full 30-meter drop.

Insider tips

Wear footwear with high-traction soles as the rocks near the falls are permanently wet and slippery.

Visit during the late spring to experience the highest water volume following the melting of mountain snows.

Bring a light waterproof jacket to shield against the localized mist near the base of the cascade.

What to avoid

Do not attempt to climb the moss-covered rocks immediately surrounding the pool at the base of the waterfall.

Etiquette

Stay on marked wooden walkways to prevent erosion of the fragile limestone riverbanks.
