Overview

Rozhledna na Senecké hoře is a steel-lattice observation tower located near the village of Pavlíkov in the Rakovník district. The structure reaches a total height of 31 meters, with an observation deck positioned at 21 meters above ground level. Completed in 2015, the tower serves as both a tourist destination and a telecommunications relay. Visitors climb 104 steps to reach the top. From the deck, the tower offers 360-degree views of the Křivoklátsko Protected Landscape Area, the Rakovník basin, and in clear conditions, the peaks of the Krušné hory mountains. The site is situated on the summit of Senecká hora at an elevation of 506 meters above sea level. The base area includes benches and information boards detailing the surrounding landscape.

Photo spot

The highest observation platform, specifically the north-facing side for the best composition of the Křivoklátsko forest landscape.

Insider tips

Bring binoculars to fully utilize the identification panels on the viewing deck.

Check local weather reports specifically for wind conditions, as the open steel structure can be significantly windier than the forest floor.

Wear sturdy footwear as the path from the nearest parking area involves an unpaved forest trail.

What to avoid

Attempting to climb during thunderstorms or high wind warnings, as the tower is an exposed metal structure.

Good to know

Open year-round, but access may be restricted during severe winter weather due to icy steps.

Etiquette

Avoid jumping or causing vibrations on the metal staircase as it creates noise for others on the structure.
