Overview

Naddi Hill Point is a high-altitude observation deck in the Dhauladhar mountain range offering unobstructed views of the snow-capped peaks. Located in Naddi village, it serves as the terminal road point before the trail begins toward the Kareri Lake and Guna Devi Temple trek routes. The site is situated at an elevation of approximately 2,000 meters above sea level. It features a paved walkway and viewing platform overlooking the Kangra Valley. The geography consists of jagged ridge lines and deep pine-forested valleys. It functions as a quieter alternative to the more crowded viewpoints located closer to the main McLeod Ganj bazaar.

Insider tips

Carry a light windbreaker even in summer as temperatures drop significantly once the sun dips behind the ridge.

Bring binoculars for spotting Himalayan griffons or golden eagles often seen circling the thermals in the valley.

Use sturdy, closed-toe footwear if you plan to walk past the main platform onto the unpaved forest trails.

What to avoid

Do not attempt to hike the forest trails alone or after dusk, as the terrain is rugged and lacks lighting.

Etiquette

Maintain silence to respect the local residential nature of Naddi village; carry out all personal waste.
