Overview

Ganmon is a 15-meter-high natural sea cave carved into the rugged sandstone cliffs of the Noto Peninsula's western coast. Located within the Noto Hanto Quasi-National Park, the site features a natural rock arch formation created by persistent wave erosion from the Sea of Japan. Visitors can access the interior of the cave via a short walking path that leads down from the cliff-top observation area. The surrounding landscape consists of unique rock formations, including 'Hawk's Nest' rock and other jagged coastal pillars. The site remains a primary destination for geological sightseeing in the Shika area. It is managed as part of the Noto coastline's scenic preservation efforts.
