Overview

Standing at 182 meters, the Statue of Unity is the world's tallest statue, dedicated to Indian independence leader Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. It is constructed from a concrete core reinforced with steel, covered by 1,850 tonnes of bronze cladding. The structure is located on Sadhu Bet island in the Narmada River, positioned facing the Sardar Sarovar Dam. A viewing gallery located at the chest level, 153 meters above the ground, provides a panoramic view of the dam and the surrounding Satpura and Vindhyachal mountain ranges. The site includes a museum and a memorial garden accessible through a dedicated visitor center. It is a central component of the Ekta Nagar project, which integrates various tourist facilities within the Kevadia region. The engineering design includes seismic resistance capabilities to withstand earthquakes and high-velocity wind speeds.
