Constructed at the turn of the 19th century, the bridge was built to connect the villages of Golubić and Žegar across the karst canyon. The structure is composed of hand-laid stone slabs without the use of mortar. It sits in a remote canyon reach where the river forms a series of travertine waterfalls. The site is accessible only by a steep hiking trail leading down from the village of Golubić. The surrounding terrain is characterized by Mediterranean macchia and exposed limestone formations. It remains a rare example of traditional Balkan rural infrastructure integrated into a protected natural landscape. The bridge is approximately 109 meters long.
