It is located directly in front of the traditional village of Nea Skioni, a settlement originally built by refugees from Tsakonia. The beach area features a long promenade lined with local tavernas and cafes that maintain active operations during the summer season. The coastline remains relatively shallow, making it suitable for families with children. It faces the Thermaic Gulf, offering panoramic views toward the mainland of Greece. The area maintains a more localized, quiet character compared to the larger resort towns on the eastern side of the peninsula.
