Overview

Lubart's Castle, officially known as Lutsk High Castle, is a 14th-century fortification featuring three primary towers: the Gate, Steklova, and Vladycha towers. Built by Prince Liubartas of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, the site served as the administrative and military center of the region. The castle perimeter is defined by its thick, red-brick defensive walls, which enclose a courtyard containing archaeological excavations and several historical museums. It is one of the oldest and best-preserved brick-built castles in Ukraine. The site houses specialized museums dedicated to ancient bells, painting, and book history. The castle remains a central landmark in the Old Town area of Lutsk. It is recognized as a monument of national importance under the administration of the Lutsk Castle Historical and Cultural Reserve.
