Overview

The Adana Grand Mosque, known locally as Ramazanoğlu Mosque, was commissioned in 1513 by Ramazanoğlu Piri Pasha and completed in 1541. The complex features a unique blend of Mamluk, Seljuk, and Ottoman architectural styles. Its exterior is constructed with distinctive alternating black and white stone masonry. The prayer hall features a large central dome flanked by smaller ones, reflecting the Renaissance-influenced architectural trends of its era. A neighboring madrasa, the Ramazanoğlu Hall, was constructed concurrently with the mosque. The structure serves as the historical anchor of the old city district in Seyhan. It remains an active place of worship serving the local community.
