Overview

Jembatan Cirahong is a dual-purpose colonial-era bridge spanning the Citanduy River, connecting Ciamis and Tasikmalaya. Constructed in 1893 by the Dutch East Indies government, it features a unique design where the top level supports active railway tracks and the bottom level allows for single-lane vehicle traffic. The bridge remains a critical local artery, though it is primarily utilized by motorcycles and pedestrians due to width restrictions. It measures approximately 202 meters in length and stands 66 meters above the riverbed. The structure is composed of reinforced steel trusses supported by massive stone masonry piers. It remains an operational railway bridge serving trains on the Southern Java line.
