The Sástó Lookout Tower is a repurposed oil drilling derrick located at the highest lake in Hungary. Standing at 53 meters high, the structure was transported from the Algyő oil fields to Sástó in the early 1970s. It features a narrow spiral staircase leading to several observation platforms. From the top, visitors can view the Mátra mountain range and, on clear days, the Great Hungarian Plain. The base of the tower is situated at an elevation of 507 meters above sea level. It serves as a central landmark within the Sástó recreation area, which includes a pedestrian footbridge and a small, artificial lake. The surrounding forest environment is part of the Mátra Landscape Protection Area.
