Overview

Radonove Ozero, also known as the Radon Lake, is a flooded granite quarry located near the village of Myhiya in the Mykolaiv Oblast. The water features a distinct turquoise color due to the high mineral content and the composition of the surrounding granite rocks. The quarry depth reaches approximately 40 meters, making it a popular spot for high-altitude cliff diving and recreational swimming. The surrounding landscape consists of rugged granite cliffs and sparse steppe vegetation. It is part of the Buzkyi Hard National Nature Park territory. The site is a prominent feature of the Southern Bug river valley's geological landscape.

Photo spot

The highest northern ridge overlooking the water provides the best panoramic view of the lake's turquoise color contrast against the grey granite.

Insider tips

Wear water shoes, as the perimeter is dominated by sharp granite rocks rather than sand.

Bring your own shade structures, as there is almost no natural tree canopy surrounding the cliff edges.

Pack a basic first aid kit, as the rocky terrain can be difficult to navigate safely.

What to avoid

Avoid jumping from the cliffs unless you are an experienced diver, as there are hidden underwater rock ledges.

Etiquette

Practice 'leave no trace' principles, as this is a natural site without formal waste management services.
