Overview

Little Buffalo State Park is centered around the 88-acre Holman Lake, which serves as the primary hub for recreational activities in the 923-acre park. The park features the restored 1800s-era Shoaff’s Mill, an operational grist mill that demonstrates traditional milling techniques. Visitors can access over 8 miles of hiking trails that traverse woodlands, wetlands, and open fields. The park contains a historic covered bridge, the Clay Covered Bridge, relocated from its original site to preserve its architecture. Campgrounds include 41 sites equipped with electric hookups and modern restroom facilities. The park provides swimming opportunities at a designated beach area during the summer season. Fishing is permitted in Holman Lake and the adjacent Buffalo Creek, which is stocked with trout. A restored historic cabin and schoolhouse highlight the area's 19th-century agricultural history. The park is managed by the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.
