The Aulanko Observation Tower is a 33-meter-high granite structure built in 1907, standing atop the Aulangonvuori hill in Hämeenlinna. Designed by architect Waldemar Aspelin, the tower replaced an earlier wooden structure on the same site. The surrounding park reflects the 19th-century English-style landscape gardening tradition, incorporating both indigenous forest and exotic tree species. It remains a central feature of the Aulanko area, which was once the site of a grand hotel and a popular retreat for the Finnish elite. The tower is constructed from local granite, anchoring it visually to the rocky outcrop it occupies.
