Overview

Al Fattah Al Alim Mosque is the largest mosque in Egypt's New Administrative Capital, spanning 250,000 square meters. Its design draws from Mamluk-era architectural elements, featuring four main minarets standing 95 meters tall. The structure is capped by a central dome measuring 33 meters in diameter and 28 meters in height, flanked by four secondary domes. It functions as a primary state-level mosque, capable of accommodating approximately 17,000 worshippers simultaneously. The facility includes two separate prayer halls for men and women, as well as a large outdoor courtyard for overflow. Constructed by the Arab Contractors, the project was inaugurated in early 2019 alongside the nearby Cathedral of the Nativity. The interior is decorated with intricate marble work and traditional Islamic calligraphy. It serves as a central landmark within the government district of the new city.
