Overview

Victoria Bridge is a historic single-track railway bridge spanning the Perak River in Enggor, Kuala Kangsar. Completed in 1900, it is one of the oldest railway bridges in Malaysia, originally constructed by the Federated Malay States Railways. The bridge was officially opened by the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Idris Murshidul Azzam Shah, on 21 March 1900. It served as a critical logistics link for the tin mining industry in the Kinta Valley. The structure features a distinctive steel truss design supported by brick piers. In 2002, a new concrete bridge was constructed nearby to accommodate modern rail traffic, rendering the old bridge decommissioned for trains. It has since been preserved as a heritage site and repurposed for pedestrian and bicycle use. The bridge retains its original riveted ironwork and track sleepers, which remain visible to visitors.
