Overview

Aogu Wetlands and Forest Park is a vast 1,470-hectare recreational area situated on the coast of Dongshi Township in Chiayi County. Formerly a tidal land reclamation project, the site now serves as a significant stopover for migratory birds within the East Asian-Australasian Flyway. The terrain consists of diverse habitats including coastal forests, wetlands, and farmland. It features a bird-watching trail, a bicycle path, and multiple lookout towers. Visitors can observe various species such as the black-faced spoonbill, grey heron, and common kestrel. The park is managed by the Forestry and Nature Conservation Agency.
