Overview

Fort Washington Park spans 160 acres along the Hudson River in Washington Heights, Manhattan. The park contains the historic Little Red Lighthouse, officially known as Jeffrey's Hook Lighthouse. It features sports courts for basketball, baseball, and tennis, alongside picnic areas and barbecue grills. The park is integrated into the Hudson River Greenway, providing a paved path for cyclists and pedestrians. High cliffs known as the Palisades are visible across the river in New Jersey. The terrain includes narrow strips of land between the Henry Hudson Parkway and the riverbank. It offers significant riverfront access rarely found elsewhere on Manhattan's west side.
