Overview

Mikro Seitani is a remote pebble beach located at the end of a deep, narrow gorge on the northwestern coast of Samos. The beach is accessible only by a hiking trail, as no road leads to the shoreline. Its landscape is characterized by high, rocky cliffs flanking both sides of the cove, providing a sheltered and secluded environment. The seabed drops off quickly, resulting in deep, clear turquoise waters typical of the Aegean Sea. Unlike the nearby Megalo Seitani, this beach is significantly smaller in surface area. The surrounding area is part of the protected Karlovasi biotope zone, known for its Mediterranean monk seal habitat. There are no man-made facilities, shade structures, or permanent amenities on-site.

Insider tips

Wear sturdy hiking shoes as the trail involves steep, rocky terrain and loose gravel.

Bring at least two liters of water per person, as there are no natural springs or shops nearby.

Pack a dry bag for electronics to protect them from potential humidity or accidental splashes during the hike.

What to avoid

Do not attempt the hike in flip-flops or open-toed sandals; avoid visiting during high-wind alerts when waves can make swimming hazardous.

Good to know

Best visited from late spring to early autumn; winter rains can make the gorge trail slippery and unsafe.

Etiquette

Practice leave-no-trace principles; carry out all waste, as there are no trash facilities.
