Overview

Konzo-ji is the 76th temple of the 88-temple Shikoku Pilgrimage, founded in 774 AD by Kobo Daishi. The temple is historically significant as the birthplace of Chisho Daishi (Enchin), a prominent monk who served as the fifth head priest of the Tendai sect. The grounds contain a statue of Kannon Bosatsu and a historical bell tower. The site maintains a traditional layout featuring a main hall and a Daishi hall typical of Shingon Buddhist architecture. It serves as a major station for Henro pilgrims traversing the Kagawa prefecture segment of the route.
