The bridge structure is designed to mimic the shape of a violin, with the pylon acting as the scroll and the cables as the strings.
The base of the bridge is reinforced with high-strength structural steel to withstand the region's strong winds.
A glass-bottomed section covers 12 meters of the walkway, offering a clear view of the forest floor and reservoir basin.
The hill (Xiaogangshan) is composed primarily of limestone and is part of a distinct geological area in the Kaohsiung region.
The project was initiated by the Kaohsiung City Government to promote eco-tourism in the Gangshan and Yanchao districts.
The Eye of Gangshan is a 88-meter-high skywalk located in the Gangshan District of Kaohsiung, shaped like a violin and bow. Its main deck features a glass-bottomed section that provides a direct vertical view of the Agongdian Reservoir below. The structure is supported by 24 cables representing the strings of a violin. From the deck, visitors can see the Agongdian Reservoir, the Taiwan Strait, and the cityscape of Kaohsiung. The skybridge is situated atop Xiaogangshan, a small hill surrounded by limestone geological formations. It is a modern architectural installation designed to blend into the surrounding natural landscape. The site serves as a vantage point for observing both the inland reservoir and coastal plains.
